Ken Russell's wacky approach involved drafting in contemporary composers/rock musicians to work alongside professional actors. Apart from The Who's Roger Daltrey, Ringo Starr and Rick Wakeman also appeared (Wakeman provided music for the film too). The poster art has a fun-loving burlesque feel to it & provides an excellent example of artist Vic Fair's idiosyncratic style
