Night Of The Hunter Poster

A 2021 gallery licenced Alternative Movie Poster (24"x 36") for the Robert Mitchum film "The Night Of The Hunter" (1955).

The Mondo & associated Alternative Movie Poster (AMP) movement began in the early 2000's & represents a rejection of the "modern" photo-based design method of producing cinema posters. Mondos & AMP's are cinema posters created as art pieces. Generally these have not been made for film marketing purposes but instead are artistic re-interpretations of both classic vintage films & modern movies. Mondo/AMP posters are exceptionally high quality prints, released in strictly limited numbers (invariably sold out on release) & become instant collectables.

This high quality licenced screenprint was created by one of the most collectable of all Mondo/AMP poster artists, Laurent Durieux. In keeping with the terms of the licence, Durieux was restricted from showing a full likeness of Robert Mitchum. The resulting tilt of the head with the rim obscuring Mitchum's face actually makes the imagery more powerful & foreboding. This poster was from the "regular" edition of just 300 posters (there was a smaller print run for a "variant" poster too). This poster has no discernible faults & is as close to mint as you will find (we handle these posters with proper conservation quality gloves in order to keep them as pristine as possible). The poster will be sent rolled with protective paper in a sturdy tube. This is a scarce poster & will NOT be discounted.
