Raiders Of The Lost Ark Poster

UK Quad linen-backed first release cinema poster for "The Raiders Of The Lost Ark" (1981), the debut in what was to become a hugely successful series of films.

The poster for this Spielberg blockbuster shows Harrison Ford with trademark bull-whip in hand. The glorious poster illustration was by Brian Bysouth. Although an alternative Quad featuring the Richard Amsel artwork from the American advertising campaign was also used, the Bysouth poster was preferred & used more widely. The "A" certification indicates that this is a poster from the first release of the film (later "PG" rated posters are for subsequent re-releases though these are sometimes wrongly represented as first release posters).

Poster once folded but now linen-backed. The poster had several staple holes & some light surface stains prior to backing (these now minimised). The outer white rim has been airbrush restored but the artwork appears to have required no restoration. The poster now displays to very good effect.
