Star Wars Poster

UK Quad cinema poster for "Star Wars" (1977) featuring the iconic Tom Chantrell poster imagery, this being the "Oscars" version of the poster.

Although the Hildebrandt US design was printed in limited numbers as a Quad for use in the UK, a separate Quad design (bringing the characters to the fore) was required & several British artists were tasked with producing prototype designs (Chantrell used photographs of his wife posing in the back garden to capture the image of Princess Leia). Chantrell's design was chosen, finished artwork commissioned & the rest is history. Poster folded with a single 1/8" nick to left rim & overall in excellent condition. Please note this is a scarce example of this title that has NOT been linen-backed & is in totally original un-restored condition (it has NO over-painting like most linen-backed examples). An iconic piece of 20th century poster design.
