The Big Gamble Poster

A interesting UK Quad cinema poster for action-adventure "The Big Gamble" (1961).

The film was set & filmed in Africa in the Ivory Coast. Unfortunately, the poster has been censored bottom right indicating its use in the Republic of Ireland. Comparison with an uncensored version suggests that the local cinema manager involved was either very prudish or otherwise that the local Priest wielded significant clout! The over-painting appears to be watercolour only & has not stained through to the reverse indicating that this might be relatively easy to restore.

As we run the Chantrell archive we have found several reference stills for this film in Chantrell's collection. Although we cannot be completely sure, it is possible that this Style-A Quad is by Chantrell. The Style-B Quad set on a mountain road (shown for reference) is NOT by Chantrell.
