The Birds Poster

A 2017 Mondo licensed screenprint poster (18"x 24") for the Alred Hitchcock masterpiece "The Birds" (1963) by the artist Thomas Danthony.

This lovely atmospheric poster was one of just 175 printed & has been hand-numbered in pencil. The artist explains his composition on the Mondo website as follows: "The poster explores the role of windows in the movie, key point between the inside / outside. Windows are usually an opening to the world but here Hitchcock turns it into a weakness, a point of entry in the human refuge that has become the houses. I wanted to emulate that quintessential Hitchcock feeling, building up the psychological tension, with a quite scene where a bird is just watching us from the outside."

This poster is in near mint condition. The poster will be sent rolled with protective paper in a sturdy tube. This is a scarce poster & will NOT be discounted.

The Mondo & associated Alternative Movie Poster (AMP) movement began in the early 2000's & represents a rejection of the "modern" photo-based design method of producing cinema posters.
