The Rocky Horror Picture Show Poster

UK Quad first release cinema poster for the cult musical-comedy "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975) with iconic poster illustration by John Pasche.

Not only is this poster the first release Quad ("AA" and matt paper) but the poster is in totally original folded unrestored condition (no obscured damage or over-painting as often happens once these posters are linen-backed). The poster artist John Pasche was better known as a designer of Rolling Stones tour posters in the ealy 1970's. He also designed the famous "tongue and lips" Stones logo, the original artwork now being part of the V&A Museum collection.

"Rocky Horror" was a ground-breaking experience becoming a staple for late-night viewings, hugely popular & a magnet for marginalised groups in society too. A true cultural icon, brazen & humorous, the frequent theatrical tours around the world ensuring "Rocky Horror" is ever topical.

Poster unrestored, folded with a tiny spot mark lower right, tiny nick bottom rim, a few light creases & displays to excellent effect. A genuine cult icon (beware the later re-releases & repros) & an increasingly hard poster to find.
