The Third Secret Poster
UK Quad linen-backed cinema poster for for the British crime-drama "The Third Secret" (1964) with fabulous poster artwork by Tom Beauvais.
Tom Beauvais worked closely with Tom Chantrell at the Allardyce ad agency before setting up his own business, "Chapman-Beauvais" in 1975. Among the vast roster of posters Beauvais created were "Fantastic Voyage" (1966), "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid (1969), Mad Max (1979) & Zombie Flesh Eaters" (1980). For more extensive biographical detail about Tom Beauvais, please refer to the excellent book "British Film Posters" (2006) by Sim Branaghan & the insightful Eddie Shannon interview with Tom: https://www.filmonpaper.com/blog/an-interview-with-tom-beauvais/
A really bold & colourful composition with some excellent depictions of the cast here. The unusual red background reflected the dark violent undertones in the film. Nice Saul Bass-esque film title too. This poster has been wrongly attributed to Chantrell in the past but this is definitely a Beauvais creation.
Poster originally folded but now linen-backed. Prior to backing there were two tape marks to lower right rim & one to upper right corner (these now minimised) & the poster displays to superb effect as shown.
NB. A supplementary P&P charge will be required for overseas buyers.
