This Sporting Life Poster

UK Quad linen-backed cinema poster for "This Sporting Life" (1963).

Made in 1963 & part of a slew of British realistic social dramas, "This Sporting Life", was a great critical success (nominated for two Oscars) & featured some terrific acting (both Richard Harris & Rachel Roberts excelled). An intelligent film packed with social history (giving a rare insight into the life of a 1960's rugby league sportsman). The poster imagery is simple, dark & intense, mirroring perfectly the gritty content of the film. This is one of the classic posters of British 1960's "Kitchen Sink" cinema.

This poster was in superb folded condition prior to backing. There are two tiny touch-ins to crossfold wear but otherwise this poster is restoration free ie, it is in 99.9% original condition. A classic British cinema poster.
