Trancers

Original Quad poster "artwork" (15"x 19" overall) for the Scifi film "Trancers" (1984).

This was the debut in the series of "Trancers" films (six sequels followed 1988-2002). The UK Quad featured a completely different design to the US 1-Sheet with an airbrush close-up of "Jack Deth" played by Tim Thomerson. This film was also notable for co-star Helen Hunt in her first adult role. We show an example of the printed Quad poster for comparison (image courtesy of emovieposter).

The artwork appears to be a photo-mechanical type print from the original airbrush art, this being what was used to create the finished Quad poster. The artwork is affixed to artboard with a paper mount & a tracing paper overlay. A pen annotation to the bottom left corner suggests a Quad print run of 5,000 posters. To the reverse is an "AWA" sticker (Alan Wheatley Associates). AWA was the leading advertising agency for Independent film distributors in the UK during the 1970's-90's.
