A Man Called Dagger Poster

Japan B2 cinema poster for the James Bond spoof "A Man Called Danger" (1968).

"Dick Dagger" pits his wits against a lunatic scientist in a wheelchair who plans to ressurrect the Nazis Third Reich! This Japanese poster was based on the US advertising campaign artwork but in typical fashion, the Japanese tailor-made the poster for their domestic audience: in this case adding a sporty E-Type & a bevy of naked bottoms. As the phenomenon of James Bond gathered force in the 60's, a slew of films influenced by or parodying the franchise ensued, "A Man Called Dagger" being a good example.

Poster rolled with a couple of light horizontal foldlines. The top 1/2" of the poster has been folded & taped back to the reverse (presumably to fit a frame). The poster displays to excellent effect (map chest).
