Deadlier Than The Male Poster

Two UK posters for the Bond homage "Deadlier Than The Male" (1967) including both the UK Quad (30"x 40") & UK 1-Sheet (27"x 40"), the film starring Richard Johnson & euro stars Elke Sommer & Sylva Koscina.

Although the film was based on the character of the historical spy Bulldog Drummond, the "nod" towards the Bond franchise (steely lead, evil villains, beautiful girls etc) was obvious. The two poster designs contrast: the Quad being a clever photographic design with a clear Pop-art sensibility, the 1-Sheet being a traditional painted artwork composition, more obviously in the Bond poster tradition. The 1-sheet is far scarcer than the Quad.

"Deadlier Than The Male" was a classy affair benefitting from a Jimmy Sangster (of Hammer fame) script, direction by Ralph Thomas & being a Betty Box production. The title song was provided by the Walker Brothers. Bizarrely the film was X-rated, the idea of female assassins upsetting the censors (the torture & promiscuity didn't help either).

Both posters in excellent rolled condition, the Quad with three vertical folds & a little creasing & the 1-Sheet with two horizonal folds only. These posters are sold together & will NOT be split.
