Funeral In Berlin Poster

A 1st release US 1-sheet movie poster for the 2nd of the "Michael Caine "Harry Palmer" Cold War spy thrillers. The poster duplicates the John Burningham Quad artwork but in a more colourful manner.

Conceived as an antidote to the stylish & suave figure of James Bond, Michael Caine's under-stated Harry Palmer was well received. Though a sequel to "The Ipcress File" (1965), many would argue that "Funeral" is the best of the films in the trilogy ("Billion Dollar Brain" was the last in the series in 1967). The footage of Cold War Berlin is particularly striking. Bond connections abound with the film being a Harry Saltzman production & Ken Adam materminding the production design. Bond director Guy Hamilton also directed "Funeral".

The poster has a few neat pin-holes to rim/body & a couple of small conservation repairs to foldlines but overall remains in excellent condition.
