UK Quad poster for Ernest Bornine's "Marty" (1955).

Borgnine was a staple of many Hollywood films but most often in a co-starring role. "Marty", however, gave Borgnine an opportunity to take the leading role as a socially awkward singleton domiated by his mother who finally finds love & breaks free. Borgnine's performance garnered him the "Best Actor" Oscar. The film was a smash hit winning Oscars also for "Best Picture", "Best Director" & "Best Screenplay". Befitting such a successful film the poster illustration here is by one of Britain's top illustrators, Bill Wiggins (he of"Dracula" fame).

Poster folded with a few pin-holes to corners/rim, slight paper loss to the central vertical foldline (mid & upper sections), minor paper loss top left corner etc. However, as can be seen this poster still displays to excellent effect & this is a genuine rarity & a Quad title we've never had before in 30 years of collecting/dealing.
