Rare UK Quad poster for the Ealing Studios film "Nicholas Nickleby" (1947) with poster illustration by Edward Ardizzone.

This adaption of the Dickens novel starred Derek Bond & Cedric Hardwicke. The film also co-starred Sally Ann Howes who twenty years later would star as "Truly Scrumptious" in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" (1968). The artist Ardizzone not only created film posters for Ealing Studios but was a book cover illustrator & provided advertising art for Guinness too.

This poster has paper loss to the central & right side areas. There is some crayon writing to the reverse that does not show through. It is approx 90% complete & clearly a restoration project (higher res image available on request). However, this is a rare Ealing title which in complete form sells for several thousand Pounds.
