The Dirty Dozen Poster

UK Quad first release cinema poster for the popular WWII film, The Dirty Dozen" (1967) with poster illustration by Frank McCarthy.

Poster for one of the classic war films, this one boasting a stellar cast including Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Trini Lopez, Telly Savalas and Donald Sutherland. A much sought after poster & this is the without bottom rim text to the left of "screenplay.." - beware the 1970's re-release, sometimes mis-represented as a first release or otherwise offered without full disclosure!

American artist Frank McCarthy interestingly uses a design which extrudes at several points into the white rim of the poster (this a technique also used by Tom Chantrell in the UK). Chantrell was impressed with the composition of the "Dirty Dozen", it providing inspiration for his own iconic illustration of the "Star Wars" Quad (1977).

Poster with light foldline wear, pin-holes to corners & an old tape repair to fraying upper right rim but displays very well as shown & most important, it is a first release poster too.
