UK Quad cinema poster for the Robert Aldrich drama "The Killing of Sister George" (1968).

An interesting poster, the artist cleverly capturing the sensitive dynamic between the three leads. The subject matter of the film (lesbian relationships) was groundbreaking for its time & earned the film a rare to achieve "X" certificate. The poster design is clearly based on the Joseph Caroff artwork for the US 1-Sheet (image shown for reference courtesy of emovieposter) but looks to have been re-painted for the Quad format.

Poster folded with wear particularly to the lower left vertical foldline (several conservation tape strentheners to the reverse) & staple marks to corners.
