White of The Eye Poster

Scarce UK Quad poster for the British slasher-horror film by Donald Cammell "White of The Eye" (1987) with poster illustration by Vic Fair.

Cammell was a key figure in London during the "Swinging 60's" scene. Best known for "Performance" (1970) starring Mick Jagger & co-directed with Nic Roeg, Cammell was an enigmatic & only occasional film-maker, making just "The Demon Seed" (1977) before "White of The Eye". His London 1960's connections showed with the choice offor the film soundtrack of this '87 film. Otherwise in the 1980's-90's Cammell directed several video shoots for U2. Cammell committed suicide in 1996.

It appears that "White of The Eye" had a limited cinematic release & went to video within the year. The video cover replicates the Quad design but the artwork is full colour (perhaps the marketing budget for the cinema release was limited?). This is a scarce Quad poster seldom seen in the market.

Poster folded as issued & in excellent condition. A fascinating piece of Vic Fair art & a poingnant reminder of the mercurial talent of Donald Cammell.
