The Ipcress File Poster

UK Quad linen-backed cinema poster for the Michael Caine Cold War thriller "The Ipcress File" (1965), this being the first in the trilogy of films starring Caine as the dour British agent "Harry Palmer" (based on the novels of Len Deighton).

The poster design takes a minimalistic approach, a facial image of Caine, some official stamps & a gun. "Harry Palmer" was deliberately posed as a more realistic low-key alternative to the character of "James Bond" & the poster design reflects this, eschewing the Bond-style Quads which were awash with colour, action, sexy women etc. A quintessential Michael Caine film poster.

Poster previously folded but now linen-backed. Under UV light the poster appears to have had minimal restoration with a few touch-ins to pin-holes to corners/rim only. The poster was in excellent condition prior to backing & now displays to superb effect.
