One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest Poster

Rare "pre-Oscars" UK Quad linen-backed poster for "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" (1975).

This poster would have been used in the very early UK roll-out of the film & prior to the film's success at the Oscars. The white/red "Oscars" Quad (see below) was rushed out following the Awards & is the design most commonly seen. The "blue "pre-Oscars" version, as here, is rarely seen in the market.

The film was brilliantly made providing a powerful critique of the American mental health system. Light-hearted & genuinely funny in the first half, the film morphs into something much darker later. Jack Nicholson delivered arguably his best ever performance & was rewarded with the Best Actor Oscar. Louise Fletcher won the Oscar for Best Actress & Milos Forman completed the triumvirate winning Best Director (two other Oscars followed).

Prior to backing the poster had tape stains to upper & lower left & right rims, surface paper loss to small area of right mid-rim, slight paper loss to bottom right corner & light foldline wear. The poster has been sensitively restored, linen-backed & now displays to very good effect. This style of Quad is significantly rarer than the general release poster equivalent.
